What it is and does
This 19-article law sets the minimum common rules on ozone-depleting gases (CFCs, HCFCs, halons) for all GCC states. Each state brings it into force through its own national law, and the national rules may be stricter but not weaker. It bans imports of used equipment that runs on these gases and requires licences and quotas for importers. It also requires the authorities to license companies, workshops and individuals who work in refrigeration and AC.
Who it affects
Refrigerant importers and traders, AC and refrigeration equipment importers, service companies, workshops and technicians
Key points
